Muškát Moravský

MOPr, Moravian Muscat

White, registered in 1987; 180 ha; 0.95 % of the vineyard plantings

In the middle of 19th  century there was no Muscat family grape variety suitable for Moravia's specific conditions. Breeder Václav Křivánek from Vine Research Centre at Polešovice was successful with crossing of Muškát Ottonel x Prachtraube.

Quality akostné odrodové víno is produced, as well as dry attribute wines - kabinetné (Kabinett), neskorý zber (late harvest) and usually polosuché (semi – dry) výber z hrozna. Variety is also used in sweet aromatic sparkling wines.
