Breslava got its name by the historic name of Slovak capital Bratislava. Is is a cross of Chrupka červená (Chasselas rose) x Tramín červený x Santa Maria Alcantara which was performed by Dorota Pospíšilová in 1960. 

Wine is still very rare, Quality akostné značkové (branded) wine is produced, also as wine with attribute - suché (dry) neskorý zber (late harvest) and sladké (sweet) slamové víno (straw wine).

Variety is one of the oldest crossbreds in Slovakia. In comparison with Müller-Thurgau had lower yield, higher content of acids and better wine. Variety is not suitable for every location, but it became quite popular in recent years while grown on unique microclimates.
